IHCC baseline studies provide information on the prevalence of select non-infectious diseases and their risk factors in the Indus Hospital catchment population.
Diabetes – TB Co-morbidity
A large portion of the TB patients enrolled in the Indus Hospital TB Control Program have diabetes. We are initiating projects to determine how diabetes impacts the management of TB and treatment outcomes, and what programmatic tools are required to more effectively manage the two diseases in the same patient. We are partnering with investigators at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and the World Health Organization to conduct these studies.
